I know that you are working hard and that your desk may not be the most comfortable set-up! So these stretches can be done at your desk or wherever you feel like stretching.
Even if you have the most ergonomically perfect desk set up your body is designed to move. It is designed to move regularly. So set up a 30-minute reminder on your computer or phone, (we all know time can fly when you are engrossed in your work) when that reminder goes off, move! You might alternate these stretches with a walk to top up your water, (or maybe take a bathroom break).
Previously you may not have known which stretches you should do. It can be tricky navigating the online world of health advice. So, I have made it simple, and done the research for you. These stretches will work to help alleviate the stress on your body from prolonged desk work.
THESE STRETCHES WILL WORK!
The only caveat is that you have to do them and do them regularly. When you first start these stretches hold for 10 seconds, as you get better you can hold them for longer. You don’t have to do all of them each break but work your way through them over the course of the day. You might want to do one or two each break. Ensure you get through the whole list each day!
