I see a lot of female clients that are stressed! This stress causes an imbalance of hormones creating a cascade of side effects including weight-loss resistance, frazzled brain, inability to focus, lethargy, sugar and coffee cravings, exhaustion, anxiety, and many other symptoms. When these amazing women try to address the symptoms they get nowhere. They can’t lose the excess weight, they can’t focus the brain, they can’t exercise more. There is nothing left in the tank for tackling these debilitating symptoms. Do you know why? Because they haven’t been told about the underlying cause! The root cause of the symptoms. Their stressful lifestyle.
What can be done? How can they dig their way out of the depths of cycling symptoms?

Living in the present and not stressing about what was and what is to come sounds very appealing! When you meet that person who seems to have found that “zen” they appear so calm, so present, so relaxed it sparks some inner longing to be the same. The thought of less rushing and more mindful presence is appealing.
The challenge is, how to get there. How to move from the rushing, stressing, over-analyzing, and the constant treadmill of chores, responsibilities, tasks, and expectations to having time to just be. And even more so, how do you get there without giving up the things you enjoy or the job you have secured.
You know you are stuck in the cycle of busyness and worry when you finally get a quiet moment and you are at a loss. Your brain is so used to the constant need to be on alert that when there is a brief moment of nothing, you worry and find something else to worry about, plan or do. But it is these moments of quiet that is your chance. Your chance to live mindfully.
When you next have a quiet moment set yourself a challenge, spend that moment in the present. Set the bar low, the challenge is about the process, not the product. The product will eventually be a ‘zen’ version of you.
I am going to run this daily challenge over in my “Thrive after 35” so if you are a child-free woman over 35 and would like to do this together, we will start the challenge together on Monday 1st February. Click here to join the group and the creative challenge with a supportive crew! But if you would like to start now. Just follow the steps below!
Creation is the key. It is about practicing the discipline of creating space to create something. EVERY DAY. To make it a daily habit. A daily habit to create. Creativity is often viewed as a waste of time. But it is a chance to sit in the present, plan for the future, and use your imagination. What you create is totally up to you. Some ideas include:
- Write a book
- Journal
- Create videos
- Draw/Paint/Build anything
- Play music
- Choreograph a dance
- Create an app
- Develop an online business
- Start a real in-world business
- Create a charity
- Write/Draw a comic
- Design and build a garden
- Start pottery
- Craft or scrapbook online or hands-on with papercraft
- Design and build cakes
- Create new recipes, cook, photograph, and create a cookbook.
You are only limited by your own creativity. There are two elements to the challenge.
- Practice the discipline of creating a time and space for creation and creativity.
- Hold that time sacred. No filling it with busyness or work. Rather purely for the imagination and creative brain space.
Feel free to get started now…. Or if you are a childfree woman over 35, join us in the Thrive After 35 Facebook group as we start the challenge together on February 1.
